Daisy Prado is a communications professional, cultural strategist, and an intersectional community advocate championing women of color in San Francisco. She serves as the Development and Communications Manager at ACCESS Reproductive Justice. Previously, as the Program Manager for the Department on the Status of Women, Daisy fiscally and programmatically managed the Department’s Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Intervention Grants Program to help improve the health and safety of women and girls in the City of San Francisco. Prior to working for city government, she was the Public Affairs Officer for Planned Parenthood Northern California, serving as a key government relations liaison between elected officials and San Francisco’s diverse communities, while also advancing access to reproductive and sexual health resources.

As a passionate advocate for community change and equity, Daisy has worked at multiple community-based organizations at the intersection of reproductive and environmental justice, and was appointed as a Commissioner for the City of San Francisco in 2021.

In 2022 Daisy was named one of Next Gen Collective’s 30 Under 30, celebrating her years as a public servant and community advocate.

Daisy is a proud first-generation college graduate and alum of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University.

Outside the office, Daisy enjoys exploring her city, a good book, and walk with her adopted terrier, Duke. She founded City Gurlz Hike, an urban hike and community programming series for women to connect, heal, and liberate through nature. As an avid explorer her travels have taken her to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, France, Grand Cayman Islands, Greece, Italy, South Africa, United Kingdom, Mexico, Belize, Spain, and many cities around the United States. She calls San Francisco home.
